Mirvac Design has transformed the lobby of North Sydney’s premium grade 101 Miller Street tower into a light and welcoming business hub featuring contemporary artworks by painter Marion Borgelt, sculptor Warren Langley, and furniture by Arne Jacobsen and Karim Rashid.
In line with Mirvac’s commitment to sustainability, the space utilises eco friendly materials wherever possible and, with the installation of a trigeneration plant by Cogent Energy as the primary energy source, together with innovative design and construction.
Beachside Leighton, was awarded the state HIA-LandCorp GreenSmart award for Design Concept. The award recognised the innovative sustainable and environmental initiatives that have been incorporated in the design.
Mirvac Design have created educational building that reflects a ‘living laboratory’ for the advancement of teaching sustainability principles and practices, not only to Bond students but to the wider community.
Kah Heng Yep’s competition entry (in collaboration with Marie FF Ng) in the prestigious Central Glass International Architectural Design Competition was amongst the Honourable Mentions. The renowned annual competition, based in Japan, is judged by world-leading architects with Toyo Ito as the chief judge leading a team of eight this year. The theme for this year was focused on architecture for a community gathering place. Kah’s design was inspired by the traditional Chinese hobby of songbird keeping, still practiced in Hong Kong today.
