As part one of Australia’s largest property groups, Mirvac Design has a strong sense of responsibility to the people with whom we do business, as well as to the broader community in which we operate. We consider ourselves to be a leader in corporate social responsibility, specifically on addressing issues that relate to social, economic and environmental sustainability.
Sustainability is an essential element in the planning, designing, building and managing residential, commercial, retail and industrial properties. Mirvac demonstrates leadership in introducing new technologies and practical measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote energy and water saving practices in such projects as Australia’s first solar suburb, Newington, and our GridX Trigeneration System at Mirvac Vision Estate, Glenfield.
Mirvac has a partnership with Bond University and has established the Bond University Mirvac School of Sustainable Development.
Mirvac Design has designed the building to house the Mirvac School of Sustainable Development at Bond University’s Gold Coast campus in Queensland. The project was awarded Australian first 6 star ‘World Leadership’ status by the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA).
Mirvac’s approach and commitment to sustainability is well recognised. Mirvac has maintained its listing on United Kingdom’s FTSE4Good Global Index. A listing in the Australian SAM Sustainability Index (AuSSI) recognises Mirvac as one of the top sustainability-driven companies within the entire Australian economy.
